Today, reports have emerged that the United States of America, USA through the embassy in Nairobi has come out to send a message to members of parliament concerning the vetting of the new CS nominees.
As reported by Tuko News, US on a statement released by their embassy has told the members of parliament to be very keen on integrity issues of the CS nominees. They want them to only pass those nominees with high integrity. This means that those with corruption cases and other non-intergrity issues should not be allowed to take over the powerful roles in the cabinet.
On their tweet, the embassy said that together with Kenyans and other stakeholders of this country, they are closely following this process. As we talk, the parliament has grilled the cabinet secretary nominee for internal security and coordination Prof Kithure Kindiki. During his vetting, Kindiki announced that his net worth has increased by Shs 150 million. He also said that he has not benefited from any business with the goverment. Currently, the CS nominee for health is being questioned by the members of parliament.
