Sitaki huyo mtoto: Mulamwah’s grandmother reveals why she won’t allow Carol Sonie’s daughter to be her granddaughter

In a family gathering that sparked mixed reactions online, comedian Mulamwah’s grandmother has openly revealed why she does not recognize Keilah Oyando, the daughter of Mulamwah’s ex-girlfriend Carol Sonnie, as her granddaughter.

This revelation occurred during a light-hearted moment shared on social media, showing Mulamwah bonding with his grandmother and his son.

During the gathering, Mulamwah’s current partner, Ruth Kiarie, asked the grandmother how many grandchildren she had.

The elderly woman counted three, all boys, and burst into laughter, a moment Ruth joined in on.

This laughter, however, belied a deeper issue as Keilah, Mulamwah’s daughter with his ex-girlfriend, was conspicuously omitted.

When Ruth inquired if the grandmother would like to have a granddaughter, she expressed her wish for many granddaughters but reiterated her stance on not recognizing Keilah.

The grandmother’s exclusion of Keilah from her count of grandchildren appears to stem from unresolved issues between Mulamwah and Carol Sonnie.

Social media reactions were swift and divided.

Eunice Mutuma commented, “Laugh now while you can. Keilah will surprise them. Who is God?”

Sarah Becky Mwaniga criticized Ruth’s participation in the laughter, stating, “Now Ruth is laughing like a fool, insisting that they are all boys and that she knows very well that Keilah is there.”

Some defended Ruth and the grandmother’s position. Jully Kafandika noted, “Carol brought this upon herself by changing the child’s name. Please leave Ruth alone. What is her crime? The child is Mulamwah’s, so he should defend her girl, not Ruth.”

Remmy Wekesa Kiveu added, “It’s good to understand people’s culture and the context of everything.”

Others were critical of the family dynamics. Meeziken Dread warned, “That’s not cool. Never try to come in between your partner and his children.”
