George Were was a renowned military pilot who boasted 4000 flying hours in the course of his sterling career that spanned decades. Were and his dear wife were blessed with two children, identified as Joseph and Stacy, but those aren’t the only ones that the loving couple raised The couple also raised five other children, educated them to get degrees, and now they have lucrative jobs in various careers in and outside the country.
The wife of the late Captain George Were, who died alongside Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament (MP) Johana Ng’eno, has touched hearts after showing off relatives they educated and now have good jobs.
Were, who served in the military and boasted 4000 flying hours, was the pilot of the helicopter that crashed and killed six people. After working for many years, Were was just two months away from retirement, and although he is now dead, his legacy lives on in his children and those of relatives he helped to raise.
“This is Brian; he lived with us, and he is Jenny’s son. If you knew Were’s youngest sister, she passed on, and he is a teacher and a nurse. This is Christine, my sister’s child; she also lived with us and is a fisheries officer in Homa Bay. This is Stephanie; she lived with us and is now a teacher in Ruaraka,” said Were’s wife proudly.

This is Tanya, a PhD student in Spain but married in Chile; she specifically came to bury her father. When she met the Chilean, she brought him to her father. This is Brian, the baby of the family, a fifth-year student at the University of Nairobi,” she revealed.
Most people who watched the video were impressed and even recalled their own mothers who helped relatives go from one step to another. “That’s how we were raised. Kids in the family are kids of the able parent. Mrs George needs to take a lot of credit. Where the wife refuses it becomes a headache. God bless the family,” said Hez Mulinge.
