OCS Tallam

New revelations have rocked the ongoing investigations into the death of blogger and teacher Albert Omondi Ojwang. Nairobi Central OCS Talam is now in deeper trouble following claims that he was in contact with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Eliud Lagat both before and after Omondi’s death.

A Tuesday report by People Daily has shaken things up after it detailed the alleged communication trail. Talam is now being viewed as a key link in what many are calling a high-level cover-up. The report further claims that Talam made efforts to contact officials from the Ministry of Interior after the incident, but they reportedly declined to meet him.

This fresh twist has added fuel to an already blazing fire as the country demands accountability and transparency. With OCS Talam already under tight scrutiny, these new claims could make it harder for him to defend himself in the days ahead. He’s now considered a prime suspect as IPOA digs deeper into the events leading to the fatal encounter.

The late Omondi’s death has become a national matter, drawing sharp criticism against the police force and how it handles suspects — especially those involved in digital activism. President William Ruto had earlier spoken to the late Omondi’s father, promising to deliver justice. However, with high-ranking officers now being linked to the case, Kenyans are closely watching to see if the promise will be fulfilled or fade into silence like many others.

This case has turned into a symbol of a much bigger problem in Kenya: unchecked police power and a broken system of accountability. If true, the connection between Talam and Lagat points to a coordinated effort rather than a rogue officer’s actions.

The youth, bloggers, and activists now demand one thing — justice that speaks louder than words or phone calls.
