Fresh details have emerged about the young woman who lost her life after she was hit by a speeding Toyota Prado while crossing the road at Duka Moja in Kericho county on Friday, July 17.

The victim has been identified as Sharon Chelengat, an Electrical Engineering student whose life was cut short just months before she was expected to complete her studies.

According to reports, Sharon was looking forward to graduating this December and had dreams of building a successful career as an engineer.

However, those dreams came to a heartbreaking end following the tragic road accident that has left her family, friends, and fellow students in deep mourning.

Eyewitnesses said Sharon was crossing the road when the speeding Prado approached.

Within moments, a loud bang was heard as the vehicle struck her.

The impact was severe, and she died from the injuries she sustained.

People who witnessed the accident described the incident as painful and shocking.

Many said everything happened within seconds, leaving those nearby with little chance to help.

The tragic scene drew a crowd of motorists and residents, who were left saddened by the loss of a young woman whose future appeared bright.

Sharon was a student at Township Vocational Training Centre, where she was pursuing Electrical Engineering.

Fellow students and members of the institution have expressed their sorrow, describing her as hardworking, focused, and determined to complete her education.

Many of her classmates said she had worked tirelessly to achieve her dream of becoming an engineer and was only a few months away from finishing her studies.

They noted that her sudden death has left a huge gap among her peers and has robbed the country of a promising young professional.
