Popular Mugithi musician and police officer Samidoh Muchoki has ignored an arrest warrant issued by the National Police Service (NPS) in Kenya.
The police said that Samidoh had deserted his work without permission, which led to the warrant. However, instead of responding to the issue, Samidoh surprised many by announcing his US music tour.
Samidoh, who is also a father of three, posted his US tour dates on Facebook. He also shared pictures with his children, showing that he is spending time with his family abroad.
Many Kenyans were waiting for him to talk about the arrest warrant, but he remained silent on the matter.
In his post, Samidoh wrote, “No matter how high an eagle flies up the sky, it will come down to look for food.” This message left fans wondering what he really meant. Some believe he may not return to Kenya any time soon.
The tour includes several shows in different US cities:
June 21 – Houston, Texas
June 28 – Austin, Texas
July 4 – Lowell, Massachusetts
July 5 – Dallas, Texas
July 12 – Seattle, Washington
The announcement made it clear that Samidoh plans to stay in the US at least until mid-July. His move reminded many Kenyans of his wife Edday Nderitu’s decision in the past. She traveled to the US and later said she would not return to Kenya.Samidoh’s Emotional Facebook Post Sparks Concern: Is He Okay? | The Star
Fans had different reactions online. Some told him to stay in the US until things settle down. One fan wrote, “Hii kijana hairudi hivi karibuni… Team nothing but prayers.” Another joked, “In other words, you are telling them ‘catch me if you can’.”
While Samidoh continues to perform abroad, the police in Kenya may still be looking for answers. Some people think the authorities might try to involve international police to bring him back.
