Sorrow and disbelief has hit friends, family, and the larger communities of Chemalal, Ketbarak, and Samoei following the sudden death of Dr. Elvis, a young Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) graduate who had recently travelled to Russia for work.
According to those who knew him, Dr. Elvis had secured a visa to Russia shortly after completing his studies.
Seeking better opportunities and hoping to build a successful career, he chose to join the Russian military where he underwent official training.
Reports indicate that by the time of his death, he had only served in the Russian army for a few months.
Dr. Elvis was described as an ambitious, disciplined, and hopeful young man who believed in working hard to change his life and support those around him.
One of his mentors recalled that in early 2023, just days after his graduation, Elvis paid him a visit at his home.
During this visit, the mentor helped link him to a six-month internship, a step that shaped the young graduate’s journey as he explored various paths toward a better future.
News of his death has left many in shock, with close friends saying they are still struggling to understand what really happened.
The mentor who shared his tribute expressed deep disbelief, saying he had not been given clear details of the events that led to the tragic loss of the young man’s life.
The sudden passing of Dr. Elvis has triggered an outpouring of grief across his village and among those who studied or worked with him.
Many described him as a polite, hardworking, and promising health professional whose life ended far too early.
Community members have continued sending condolences, with mourners noting how painful it is to lose someone who had just begun building his future.
“To his family, friends, colleagues, and relatives, please accept my deepest condolences for this immense loss,” one of the mourners shared.
“Pole sana to the entire community of Chemalal, Ketbarak, and Samoei. This is a heavy blow.”
