Kakamega residents ask the twelve members of Parliament who visited President William in the State House to disclose what they agreed on, saying there could be a plot to disrupt Linda Mwananchi’s tour in Kakamega tomorrow which could lead them occupy their homes.
Speaking today in Kakamega town, residents led by Peter Ochango said they have information that someone gave those MPs money to organise goons whom people will ferry from Kisumu County.
“Those Members of Parliament from Kakamega who went to see President Ruto at State House must tell us what they discussed,” Peter Ochango said.
They said Edwin Sifuna and his brigade have the right to hold meetings anywhere in Kakamega. The legislators meeting at the State House to disrupt him is an offence.
However, they cautioned that if anything happens to Senator Edwin Sifuna while in Kakamega tomorrow, they will occupy their homes.
According to Ochango, there are reports that someone gave the twelve members of Parliament money to disrupt Linda Mwananchi’s rally, saying they will guard their son accordingly.
They revealed that someone mandated one senior county officer to organise goons to disrupt the event.
Further, they claimed that Kakamega County has been in the limelight for owning goons that people use to cause mayhem during events, as people witnessed on a certain Sunday in Mumias.
Residents urged county executive officers to stay calm and support their own son rather than planning chaos during his entrance in Kakamega.
“The governor and his officers should protect Sifuna rather than harming him. We need peace as we wait to see our sons, Sifuna,” Ochango added.
Ochango’s sentiments come after Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula said that as the county, they won’t allow Sifuna in town.
Savula’s sentiments have ignited residents who have warned security agencies to protect their son from goons.
However, they revealed that Sifuna’s team are the politicians who have earned Kenyan hearts the most compared to other politicians.
Ochango added that he will personally mobilise residents to attend the rally and ignore threats from the government.
“Sifuna and his brigade are the most intelligent people; as Kakamega residents, we will support them so that they deliver us from the brutal regime,” Ochango said.
Furthermore, he pleaded with those who are planning to cause chaos to channel funds to developments such as hospitals rather than paying goons to harm peaceful residents.
On the other hand, the twelve MPs led by Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera dismissed the claims of planning to attack Sifuna, saying their trip to the State House was to strengthen their relationship with President William Ruto, which will benefit people on development matters.
“We met the president to discuss developments that are underway in our subcounties, nothing else,” Nabwera said.
