Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has told Mr. Odoyo Owidi to stop making trouble and to leave her name alone. She said he should stop talking like he works for her.

She said he is not her Personal Assistant and he is not her spokesperson. Millie said she has never talked to him about the broad-based talks that many people are now talking about in politics.

She said Mr. Owidi should stop using her name in things she is not part of. She warned him not to speak for her or put her in any political group. She said he has no right to decide for her or speak like he knows what she thinks.

Millie said she is very sure about her stand on the broad-based political arrangement, and she does not need anyone to speak for her.

She used a Luo saying, “Ilelo to bet alelo maloyi,” which means if someone is idle, they should go and sit with other idle people. She also said, “Wek temo Papa gi njaga,” which means stop fighting people while drunk or high on drugs. She used these words to show she is not happy with what Mr. Owidi is doing.

Millie said clearly that no one should force her to join any political group. She said she makes her own decisions and she knows what she wants. She told Mr. Owidi, “It is not your work to choose groups for me. Wek thing’a!” which means “Stop that nonsense.”

She gave this message at a time when some leaders are trying to bring others into political deals without asking them. Millie wants everyone to know that she will not join anything by force. If she agrees to something, she will say it by herself.

Her words show she wants to be free to choose her own path. She is not afraid to speak the truth and to tell people to stop using her name in wrong ways.
