Media personality Julie Gichuru on Thursday, January 29, marked one year since the passing of her father, late Colonel (Rtd) Farooq Asif Butt.In a message shared on her social media platforms, Gichuru remembered her father as a pillar of strength and compassion in her life.
“One year since he passed on. Thankful for his love, care, and protection, and for his fierce determination combined with kindness and excellence,” she wrote.
She added the tribute with a hopeful message: “Rest Dad, we will be together again one day.”
The late Colonel Butt, was a young lieutenant in the Artillery Brigade, served during the formative years of his military career in one of the army’s most technically demanding arms.
The Artillery, often referred to as “the Gunners,” is widely respected for its emphasis on precision, discipline, mastery of complex firepower systems.
