Kenyan television news anchor Fridah Mwaka has shared a personal message celebrating her foster daughter, who has turned 11 years old.

 

In a Facebook post, Mwaka reflected on her experience as a foster mother over the past two years and the bond she has developed with the child. She described the relationship as one built on simple daily moments of affection. said one of the most consistent expressions of love between them has been through kisses.

She noted that the gesture has become a regular part of their interaction at home.

She explained that her foster daughter greets her with a kiss when she arrives, gives her a goodbye kiss when she leaves, and sometimes offers a quiet kiss during ordinary moments. According to her, these small gestures have grown into a meaningful form of communication between them.

The news anchor also reflected on her own upbringing, saying she was raised in a home where affection was openly expressed. She added that her mother often showed love through physical closeness, something she has carried into adulthood.

Mwaka said the experience has made her appreciate the importance of emotional expression within families. She added that even simple gestures can carry strong meaning, especially in moments when words are not used.

She expressed gratitude for the relationship she shares with the child and said the affection she receives brings her comfort even on difficult days.

Mwaka concluded her message by saying she remains committed to supporting her foster daughter as she grows, adding that she intends to continue offering the same love she once received from her own mother.
