CS Lee Kinyanjui on Tuesday, February 3, joined family members, friends, and leaders in condoling with the family of Hon. Jamlek Kamau following the death of their mother, the late Jane Wanjiku Kamau.The Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by former Agriculture CS Peter Munya during the visit, which was marked by solemn reflection, messages of unity.

Kinyanjui described the late Jane Wanjiku as a remarkable woman whose life left a lasting impact on her family and community.

According to the family, Jane Wanjiku lived a full and gracious life, passing away at the age of 96. Kinyanjui noted that she was cheerful, hardworking, and deeply proud of her role within her family and society.

He also praised her as a unifier who brought people together through humility and kindness.

“God granted her 96 gracious years. She was a joyful woman who took pride in her work and valued unity,” Kinyanjui said, praying for her soul to rest in eternal peace.

Beyond offering condolences, the CS used the moment to reflect on the state of national politics.He emphasized that political differences should never be a reason to divide families or communities. Kinyanjui urged leaders to express differing views with respect and restraint.

He warned that divisive, toxic, and derogatory language only fuels hostility and reduces politics into a destructive contest. Instead, he called on leaders to uphold decorum and mutual respect.

Kinyanjui also encouraged Kenyans to draw lessons from past generations, highlighting the pride of nationhood and the sacrifices made to build the country. He noted that unity remains essential in honoring both family values and national ideals.
