President William Ruto has expressed his displeasure with residents of Emurua Dikirr following chaotic scenes that erupted in the area ahead of his scheduled meeting at Mambo Leo Market.

The early morning unrest reportedly followed a confrontation between two rival political factions associated with Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Kipyegon and his political rival Buluu.

The clash created tension in the area and threatened to disrupt the President’s programme.

As security personnel moved to contain the situation, the incident raised concerns over the safety of residents and political leaders attending the President’s engagement.

Addressing residents, an angry Ruto lectured them over the disorder, urging them to reject political violence and maintain peace regardless of their political differences.

The President warned that political competition should not be allowed to degenerate into physical confrontations, arguing that such incidents undermine development and discourage leaders from engaging directly with the people.

Ruto’s remarks came amid heightened political temperatures in the region, where competing factions have increasingly been engaging in public confrontations.

The President called on residents to settle their political differences peacefully and allow leaders to compete on the basis of their policies and development records rather than through confrontation.

The incident at Mambo Leo Market has once again highlighted the growing political rivalry in Emurua Dikirr as leaders and their supporters position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
