A 23-year-old mother of three has succumbed to severe injuries following a horrific domestic assault by her husband in Majengo estate, Nyeri County.
Farhiya Abdullahi, whose youngest child is only six weeks old, passed away on Monday morning while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Nyeri Provincial General Hospital (PGH). She was rushed to the facility after being attacked last Tuesday.
A postmortem revealed the brutal nature of the assault, showing multiple skull fractures, brain trauma, a fractured spine, and internal injuries. Doctors also retrieved pieces of glass and nails from her wounds.
The night before the fatal assault, a terrified Farhiya called her relatives, begging for help. Her brother rushed overnight from Isiolo to save her, only to find her unconscious in her house.
“She called us saying she feared for her life, but by the time we arrived, it was too late,” her heartbroken relative recounted.
The suspect is currently held in police custody as detectives complete their investigations. Neighbors in Majengo remain in deep shock and grief, mourning the young mother whose life was cut short so tragically.
