Fresh CCTV footage from Chiromo Hospital’s Braeside branch has revealed the final moments of Dr. Susan Kamengere Njoki, the founder and CEO of Toto Touch. What was first seen as a medical emergency has now been confirmed as murder.
Government pathologists at Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home confirmed that Dr. Susan, 38, was strangled at Chiromo Rehabilitation Centre shortly after being admitted on July 15.
Police have listed three key suspects. One of them, a hospital staff member, vanished after the incident. But the main focus is now on her husband, Alois, a senior bank manager. Investigators believe he planned her abduction and death.
Alois allegedly sent four nurses from Chiromo Hospital to Susan’s house pretending to be on a health visit. The team included Francis, Joshua, Maureen, and Mary. When they arrived, Susan questioned them and asked to speak to her personal doctor. They refused.
Two male nurses overpowered her while the others injected her with an unknown substance. Her househelp witnessed the entire struggle. Susan was then taken to Chiromo Rehab where she received more injections. She died soon after.
Police found a voice note on her phone. In it, Susan pleads with the nurses to stop and asks to change her sanitary pad, saying she was on her period. Her cries were ignored.
After her death, Alois reportedly tried to arrange a postmortem without informing her family. This raised concerns of a cover-up.
As pressure mounts, Kenyans are demanding swift arrests and full accountability. The question now is whether justice will be served.
