Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has declared she will not retire from politics even after completing her second and final term as governor. Speaking on Thursday, Waiguru said her political journey is far from over and hinted at pursuing a higher position after her term ends. “I’m not going anywhere; I’ll still be active in politics,” she stated.
Waiguru also affirmed her commitment to transforming Kirinyaga into an investment hub. She spoke during the launch of the Nice Extra Premium Flour Milling factory in Ngurubani, a multi-million shilling project.
The governor emphasized that her administration has created a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, noting that investors no longer need political connections to operate in Kirinyaga.
She added that the county’s modern infrastructure, business-friendly policies, and easy access to raw materials have attracted investors. Waiguru’s remarks underline her continued political ambition and development agenda as she positions herself for life beyond her governorship.
