Kenyans have expressed their support to ODM leader Raila Odinga after Kenya Kwanza dialogue team dismissed Azimio’s demands in the last minute.
This was after National Dialogue Committee retreat turned into a war of words that forced three Azimio members to walk out in protest.
A member of the committee revealed that the two sides are set to have separate meetings with President Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga for debriefing ahead of next engagement.
Azimio had demanded for the scrapping of the housing levy, reduction of value added tax on petroleum products from 16 per cent to eight per cent, among other proposals aimed at bringing down the cost of living.
However, Ruto men said there is nothing they can do when it comes to fuel and housing levy.
Kenyans have reacted on the impending collapse of bipartisan talks calling Raila to remain firm. Others urged him to resume protest promising to support in the new wave of demonstrations.
” Raila must be adamant and clear, either they toe the line or he initiates a new wave of demonstrations for the guys in power, can’t listen #won’t listen.”
” Then mzee is awake, please don’t relax on those demands you will receive the backup of Kenyan citizens in every corner of this country.”
” I voted for ruto but I can assure you if elections were called today raila would not need to campaign, he knows where it hurts, this government is clueless and radarless on governance.”
” Those are good demands.”
” This time I will be forefront.”
