In an emotional interview with Tuko News My Story, a young Kenyan girl from Mombasa shared her heartbreaking life story filled with pain and hardships. She bravely opened up about facing adversity at a young age from being expelled from school and becoming a teenage mother to dealing with abandonment, misunderstandings, and unfulfilling relationships.
Despite her struggles, she never gave up on her dreams and is now seeking help from fellow Kenyans to continue pursuing her passion for acting and complete her weaving course. The interview revealed that this young girl’s plight began when she got pregnant at the tender age of fourteen while still in class seven. Expelled from school, she found herself in a love affair with a man who promised to pay her school fees but later denied the pregnancy.
Left with no choice, she became a mother and had to raise her child alone. After two years, she returned to class seven to continue her education. Things took an unexpected turn when she enrolled at St. Elizabeth High School where she met a friend who recognized her talent and passion for acting. This friend introduced her to their father who took her to auditions. Despite her success her mother disapproved her acting aspirations.
Facing financial difficulties the young girl took up a phone sales job on commission. However, she faced misunderstandings with her boss who ultimately let her go. Desperate for a better future she decided to search for job opportunities abroad and ended up in Saudi Arabia where she worked as a cleaner. Life in a foreign land became unbearable, leading her to resort to pretending to be mentally unstable to secure deportation back home to Kenya.
Back in Kenya, she found employment at a hotel and encountered her third partner who denied being the father of her child. This relationship became another source of misery for her. Moreover her family refused to support her decision to be with this man as they preferred her to marry a much older man who was seventy years she didn’t love.
Alone and heavily pregnant this resilient young woman is now reaching out to fellow Kenyans for support. Her primary request is for assistance in completing her weaving course which she hopes will provide a stable source of income. Additionally, she wants to continue pursuing acting which she considers her true talent. Her determination to build a better life for herself and her children is a testament to her strength and resilience. Watch the full video below.
