Fatima tells the story of how she discovered the home Buya was residing at, with the blood and shattered kitchenware, to Major, Asiya, and Sada downstairs. Major begs her to elaborate further because he needs to know what happened or how Buya was killed. They are all stunned when she reveals that JJ was responsible for paying the house rent.
JJ thinks it would have been best if they had discussed it as it affects everyone, but Dida declines his help because she didn’t want to be helped in the first place and didn’t want anything to do with him.
After getting frustrated at not finding anyone, Mwanzele hangs up the phone. Just as he is about to depart, Babu calls and tells him that he is the one they have been looking for because Kaka is already present.
Because she seems to be certain that Buya is dead, Sada asks Fatima if she saw the body herself. When Fatima asks her if she’s trying to imply that she was responsible for her husband’s death, Sada replies that she does believe that to be the case, and Major tells her to stop talking, she doesn’t. Before JJ can take another step, his father reprimands him and asks him what is wrong with him, warning that Sada will mislead him. He also questions why he gave Buya a house without telling Fatima, but JJ responds angrily by questioning how they could have helped but are happy when someone is suffering.
Before starting their conversation, the elderly, including Kaka, recite some chants. Babu then takes over, appearing hurt by what happened to Maneno. He warns them that his death will not be taken lightly because Major declared war on them a long time ago and will soon finish them all. Babu asks Mwanzele for advice but also asks them an important question: If they are going to war, why are their weapons only stones, knives, and pangas, but Maj.
Zuu enters the kitchen while Bi. Salama is busy grinding some spices for a meal and asks where Sultana is. Bi. Salama replies that kila mtu ashughulike na za kwake. Salama asks Zuu when she would stop grieving for her father, Bi, but she spends the entire night grieving for both Maneno and her father as well. Zuu explains to her that her father raised her from a young age, and that he is now deceased. When Bi. Salama inquires about their well-being, Zuu lets her know that Kaka has left his house and taken all of his possessions with him.
Babu agrees with Kaka’s assertion that Major’s wealth and position in the army are what drive him to control and treat them unfairly, and the other men agree that they must deal with Major in a suitable manner.
When Major picks up the phone to speak to them, he tells them that the police are at the crime scene and asks if they should go there or to Major’s house. Fatima prefers the latter, but Dida suggests they go to the station in case anything has changed. Sada mocks her, saying that it seems Fatima isn’t interested in the possibility that anything has changed.a
