Kenyan lawyer Willis Evans Otieno has blasted the government after the Senior Health Assistant (SHA) allegedly wired 20 million shillings to a health center abandoned 10 years ago.
Otieno called this an insult to Kenyans, claiming that the government thinks that it is dealing with idiots whom they think cannot figure out their corruption scandals.
“Stop insulting Kenyans’ intelligence. This is deliberate, structured plunder by a cartel nested inside the Executive,” he stated.
The abandoned health facility
Otieno went on to give an example in the past when Ksh 50 million was wired to a non-existent Bomet High School.
The excuse that was given for the transfer was that it was a typing mistake.
“When funds land in ghost hospitals and ghost schools, are we to believe thieves suddenly became clumsy accountants?” Otieno cried out.
He criticized the government for being one that has always used error as an excuse to distance itself from its corruption scandals.
He urged that the money meant for sick children and struggling schools is being siphoned to cartels, while ordinary Kenyans are told to “tighten their belts.”
Otieno cried out that Kenyans are dying in hospitals without drugs while billions “disappear.”
He also made an alarm on school, saying that kids are sitting in classrooms without desks while billions disappear.
