A touching act of kindness in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) has warmed the hearts of many Kenyans after a Good Samaritan came to the aid of a distraught woman who had allegedly been conned and robbed of her mobile phone.

The woman, identified as Fridah, was captured in a viral video kneeling on the pavement beside her tote bag as she cried uncontrollably. Her emotional breakdown attracted the attention of passers-by, many of whom stopped to find out what had happened.

Among those who approached her was DJ Dimples, who patiently listened as Fridah tearfully explained that she had lost her phone after trying to help a stranger. According to her, the stranger claimed their own phone had switched off and requested to use hers to make a call. Trusting the person, she handed over the phone, only for the individual to run away with it.

Fridah revealed that she lives in Ruaka with her sister and had no money or phone to contact her family after the incident. Moved by her situation, DJ Dimples comforted her, encouraged her to stop crying, and handed her KSh 100 to cover her fare home.

He also advised her to hold onto her bag tightly, warning that it could also be stolen if she remained distracted. Despite his reassurance, Fridah struggled to compose herself as she came to terms with her loss.

The video has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Kenyans praising DJ Dimples for his compassion and willingness to help a stranger in distress. Others shared similar experiences of falling victim to con artists in Nairobi, urging members of the public to remain cautious when approached by strangers requesting to use their phones.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of staying alert in busy urban areas while also highlighting that acts of kindness can still be found even in difficult moments.
