How much is Shalkido’s outstanding hospital bill? Speaking to the media, Shalkido’s father, Stephen Mungai, appealed to Kenyans to help settle the hospital bill for his son’s treatment, which had mounted to KSh 147,000.
“The amount of money that is required currently is KSh 147,000. Kenyans, you can help me via the number 0116202762,” Stephen said, his face etched in grief. Following the accident, Shalkido was rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital by first responders after being rescued from the scene near Githurai along Thika Road.
According to media personality Oga Obinna, who had been working closely with Shalkido, doctors informed them that the singer had sustained serious injuries, including a broken left leg and internal brain swelling and bleeding, as assessed by a neurosurgeon. Shortly before his death, he had been declared brain dead.
Obinna urged Kenyans to support the family during their time of mourning, noting that additional expenses would be incurred for the funeral. However, he clarified that he would not be managing the finances for the family and that a family member would be appointed to handle the funds, with further communication to follow.
