Over the past years, Mumias Sugar has been one of the largest Company in the World in terms of manufacturing Sugar. However due to some reasons, most involving politics, the factory was brought down to an extend of failing to produce a Crystal of sugar.
In the past days, the company seemed to resume it’s activities with it producing some little sugar. The sugar has been supplied to many Supermarkets and shops clearly indicating that the company is slowly picking up and in the coming days, it might go back to the golden days of being one of the largest companies.
The company has however started facing some challenges with some people trying to turnish the name of the company.
According to Mumias East Member of Parliament, Peter Kalerwa Salasya theeur are some Kenyan bloggers who have been paid heavily by the rival Company, West Kenya to bring down Mumias Sugar.
The lawmaker mentioned the likes of Kileleshwa MCA, Robert Alai and Ogutu who he alleged that were paid by West Kenya to spread propaganda against the Mumias Sugar company.
He further fired a warning to the duo saying that he will deal with them ruthlessly and he won’t allow cartels to derail the efforts put in place to revive the Mumias Sugar company.

According to the statement Mumias Sugar is nolonger functioning since their is no smoke coming out of the chimneys yet their is Mumias Sugar supplied all over the leading stores and supermarkets
