Former marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge has joined the National Olympics Commitee of Kenya board as a member. The legendary marathoner attended his first board meeting on Thursday.

Kipchoge was welcomed into the board by NOC- K President Shadrack Maluki and Vice President Barnabas Korir.

Considered the greatest marathoner of all time, Kipchoge held marathon record for five years until 2023 when his record was erased by the late Kelvin Kiptum at Chicago Marathon.

The two- time Olympic champion first broke marathon record during the 2018 Berlin Marathon. He would shatter his own record three years later in the streets of the German capital city.

The now 40 year Kipchoge is almost at his sunset years on the road and is starting to settle in what could be his retirement plan after two decades of conquering the world as an athlete.
