Shock and grief have hit a village in Kakamega County after a woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death after finding him in bed with another woman. The incident, which happened on Wednesday evening, has left residents in disbelief as police continue to investigate.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman had left home earlier in the day and returned unexpectedly. Upon entering the house, she reportedly found her husband in a compromising position with his lover, commonly referred to as “mpango wa kando.” Angered by what she saw, the woman is said to have reached for a kitchen knife and attacked her husband.

Witnesses said she stabbed him four times in the chest and abdomen before neighbors rushed in after hearing screams from the house. Unfortunately, by the time they managed to separate her from the husband, he was already lying unconscious in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors confirmed he had died from the injuries.

The alleged lover managed to escape the scene before the attack turned fatal, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Residents described the couple as often having frequent arguments over infidelity, but no one thought the matter would end in such a tragic way.

Police officers from Kakamega quickly responded and arrested the woman, who was taken into custody. She is expected to face murder charges once investigations are complete. The body of the deceased was moved to the Kakamega County Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

Local leaders and community elders condemned the act, urging couples to resolve their differences peacefully instead of resorting to violence. They also called on people to seek counseling and guidance when faced with family conflicts.

The shocking killing has left many residents shaken, with some saying the incident should serve as a warning about the dangers of anger and uncontrolled emotions. Relatives of the deceased are now preparing for burial arrangements, while the accused awaits her day in court.

Police have assured the public that justice will be served as they continue their investigations into the matter.
