Cranes Haven is a premium resort in Trans-Nzoia County, located 24 km from Kitale CBD along the Kitale-Cherangany road. Nestled in a tranquil environment, it offers breathtaking views of the Cherangany Hills and Mount Elgon, and is only an hour from Saiwa Swamp National Park, home to the endangered sitatunga antelope. The resort is named for the hundreds of birds that inhabit the area, making it ideal for birdwatching enthusiasts.

The resort features five architecturally striking tented camps raised above the ground with spacious porches and hammocks for relaxation. Rooms are equipped with queen-size beds, chandeliers, hardwood workspaces, and bathrooms with clawfoot bathtubs, heated showers, full-length mirrors, and towel racks. Accommodation costs roughly KSh 10,000 per night for singles and KSh 15,000 for doubles, though prior booking is recommended.

Cranes Haven offers a variety of activities, including archery, cycling, horseback riding, and a heated pool. Guests also enjoy a bar, restaurant, spa amidst bamboo plantations, and a modern meeting room, ensuring a luxurious experience.

Ownership of Cranes Haven and its sister property, Sirwo Resort, lies with the family of retired politician Zipporah Kittony. Her son, Kiprono Kittony, a serial entrepreneur with investments in media (Radio Africa Group) and agriculture, manages the properties. He holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of Nairobi.
