It is every African musician’s dream to perform in Nairobi, East Africa’s entertainment hub, which has always been the springboard for many artistes.
And now, following after the footsteps of his countrymen like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, newcomer Afro-pop star Amu Kingsley aka Kendrickson is looking forward to visiting Nairobi ahead of his African tour.
With his new single Lole – a Yoruba phrase meaning follow me to the house – making it to top music charts across Africa, Kendickson has singled out Nairobi among the top cities he plans to tour this year.
“I want to visit Nairobi. It is a great entertainment city and borrowing from all I have heard about the awesome party people there, I cannot wait to be there. I am definitely coming over,” the singer and songwriter told The Standard Entertainment and Lifestyle.
“Like Lagos, I am told guys there can party. My songs are groovy, the kind that party people love. I know how Nairobians support the best in Africa and I feel like it is my chance to bloom. Nairobi must be ready for me,” he said.
Produced at Blaise Beatz Studio, Lole is a groovy song laced with a melodious tune and sweet vocals. It is a follow-up hit after last year’s Wayo success.
The 26-year-old who is tipped to be Nigeria’s next big thing went into professional singing in 2016 and since then his star has been on the rise.
His first release, Jojo, which was accompanied by a lovely visual presentation received massive airplay across Africa.
“I decided to release the hit Lole because I want to portray more of the Africa-themed Afro sound, merging it with dance and a bit of emotion,” said Kendickson.
