After going through rigorous training and vetting, 52 contestants for the TV reality program Miss President have been narrowed down to 10. The 10 will now competitively fight to be crowned season 2 Miss President.
Bina Maseno a celebrated journalist, GBV activist, and founder of the impactful Badili Africa is among the 10 finalists.
Growing up in Kayole to challenges of informal settlement, and rampant gender violence, Bina made a stab at politics in 2013 when she was only 23 years. It’s only in leadership that a dream is pushed to reality.
Despite losing in her bid, a fire was ignited in her she is not stopping at anything. She then founded Badili Africa which focuses on political awareness and leadership engagement of young women in learning institutions and urban informal settlements who are disenfranchised, disengaged, and disillusioned by politics.
Followers of the reality show which airs on KTN HOME every Thursday at 8 PM are gushing over her and her determination in everything she does. She played a vital role in educating voters during the just-finished general elections.
“Running home so I can catch this girl Bina Maseno on my screen. I had never seen a balance of grace and temerity until she happened!”
The winner of the second season of Miss President will walk away with $20,000 (Sh 2,277,000), the first runners-up $15,000 (Sh1,707,750) and the second runners-up will be awarded $10,000 (Sh1,138,500).
