Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz has once again found himself at the center of public discussion after his sister, Esma Khan, made fresh remarks about the singer’s family during a radio interview.
Speaking on Wasafi FM, Esma stated that her brother, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack, is the father of only three children. Her comments have attracted attention because they appear to differ from the number of children the singer has publicly been associated with over the years.
During the interview, Esma also opened up about her own family, saying she has two children. She emotionally revealed that one of them had passed away but did not provide further details.
“Naseeb has three children, and I have two children, although sadly I lost one,” Esma said during the interview.
Esma did not explain which three children she was referring to, nor did she clarify how her statement relates to Diamond’s previous comments regarding children he has helped raise.
Diamond has previously acknowledged that not every child he supports may be biologically his. In an earlier interview with iHeartRadio, the award-winning Bongo Flava artist said he chooses to care for every child linked to him rather than engage in disputes over paternity.
He explained that while he knows he has biological children, he has accepted responsibility for others he has raised out of love and respect, saying he prefers not to create conflict with their mothers.
Publicly, Diamond has been linked to four children from three different relationships. He shares daughter Princess Tiffah and son Prince Nillan with Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan. He is also the father of Dylan, whom he shares with Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobetto, and Naseeb Junior with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna.
Esma’s latest remarks have therefore sparked fresh speculation among fans, with many questioning whether she was referring only to Diamond’s biological children or speaking from a different perspective. Neither Diamond nor the mothers of his children have responded to her comments.
The discussion comes just weeks after Diamond’s wife, Tanzanian singer Zuchu, spoke about the couple’s future family plans.
In a June 2026 interview with a local Tanzanian radio station, Zuchu revealed that Diamond dreams of having a very large family and hopes to father as many as ten children.
“My husband wants ten children,” she said.
Zuchu, however, admitted that her own plans are far more modest. She said she would be comfortable raising only two children, adding that she does not believe she could manage a family as large as the one Diamond envisions.
The differing remarks from Esma, Diamond, and Zuchu have once again placed the singer’s personal life in the spotlight. While Diamond has consistently maintained that he is committed to caring for the children in his life, Esma’s comments have added a new layer to an issue that continues to generate widespread interest among fans across East Africa.
