Diamond Platnumz has weighed in on the simmering online drama between his friend Baba Levo and former signee Mbosso. The WCB boss urged both artistes to resolve their issues away from social media’s glare.

The conflict began when Baba Levo publicly claimed that Diamond deserved “50% of the credit” for Mbosso’s hit song “Pawa,” even demanding the melody back. The remarks triggered a heated response online.

Diamond, however, says he opted for discretion. In a heartfelt Instagram statement, he revealed that he had contacted Mbosso directly—calling, texting, and even meeting in person—to discuss the issue calmly. “I didn’t want this to go to social media,” he noted, adding that he showed Mbosso evidence illustrating how Baba Levo’s actions were harmful.

He reminded Mbosso that artist departures from a label often stir emotions—but they don’t have to lead to drama. “I told you, when an artiste leaves, not everyone reacts the same—some reactions come from hurt, not hostility. I asked you to act wisely…otherwise, you might begin believing everyone is against you because of me.”

Reflecting on past tensions, Diamond recalled Mbosso’s reaction to former WCB artiste Rayvanny’s exit. Mbosso once expressed frustration to the point of advising Diamond not to work with Rayvanny, even on the song “Nitongoze.” But Diamond encouraged perspective, saying: “Leaving a label doesn’t mean bad blood. It’s part of growth—and one day, you yourself may go independent too.”

Diamond’s response underscores his preference for handling industry disputes with maturity rather than public spectacle. His message: professionalism and respect should guide how artistes navigate change.

Do you agree with Diamond’s approach—calming tensions privately—or do you think transparency on social media has its place? Share your thoughts below, and follow for more entertainment insights with substance.
