Senator Cherargei has launched a scathing attack on Cleophas Malala, accusing the UDA Secretary General of scripting theatrics meant to mislead the public during the ongoing by-elections.
According to Cherargei, Malala has allegedly been crafting “imaginary dramas” involving fake abductions, kidnappings, and bribery accusations, all aimed at creating sympathy votes for what he terms the “dis-united opposition candidates.”
He argues that Malala’s actions amount to nothing more than a political comedy show designed to confuse voters and distort the reality of the electoral process.
Cherargei claims that throughout the night, Malala was busy generating false narratives and sensational claims, insisting that the time has come for him to “rest” and allow the country to focus on the real issues at hand.
The senator further warned Kenyans not to fall for what he described as staged performances meant to portray the opposition as victims of harassment or interference.
In his view, these tactics are deliberate distractions intended to delegitimize the electoral process when the opposition senses impending defeat.
Cherargei also issued a strong call to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), urging the institution not to succumb to pressure, intimidation, or political blackmail emanating from any quarter.
He maintained that IEBC must discharge its constitutional mandate firmly and independently, ensuring the credibility of the by-elections.
Cherargei’s message is that the electoral process must not be overshadowed by what he considers fabricated chaos, and that institutions should remain steadfast despite political theatrics.
