Academic giant Butere Girls High School’s Chief Principal, Jenifer Omondi, has retired, with Tigoi Girls’ Linda Zalo taking over in the latest transfers by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
During her tenure, Principal Omondi led the school to remarkable achievements in both academics and co-curricular activities.
Butere Girls won three consecutive national Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) titles over the last three years.
The school also maintained its academic dominance, topping Kakamega County for several years.
On the other hand, Chief Principal Zalo has a proven history of excellence at Tigoi Girls, where her leadership helped the school win the national girls’ hockey title in 2024 after a 2-0 victory over Nyamira Girls.
Tigoi Girls also performed strongly in the Western Region championships.
At the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations Games, Tigoi Girls made an impressive debut, defeating Bweranyangi Girls of Uganda 9-0.
Their basketball team also reached the semi-finals of the East Africa School Games.

During which, the students took the stage at around 8 am, sang their National Anthem, and left in tears instead of performing the play.
