Kenya’s media and automotive communities are in mourning following the passing of Trevor Lamenya, affectionately known as “Big Boy Trev.”He died on the night of Friday, August 1, after a short illness, as confirmed by his family.
His sudden death has prompted heartfelt tributes from industry peers, fans, and public figures who admired his passion and charisma.
Among those who paid tribute was media personality Betty Kyallo, who shared emotional throwback photos, memories of their long-standing friendship.
In her tribute posted on Saturday, August 2, Kyallo wrote, “You ignited my love for cars from our days at Daystar University. We had so much fun in different African countries test driving prototype cars.”She continued, “The laughter, your zeal for life. Your energy. Always positive and happy. I honestly honor you, Trey. Grateful for years we have been friends.”
Trevor, known for his larger-than-life personality and deep love for cars, was a respected figure in the motoring scene.
