Awinja, whose real name is Jacky Vike, was raised by a single mother after her father, a former Mjengo worker and cobbler, passed away.

The famous actress shared a video of herself showing off her village house, in Vihiga County. Awinja’s sumptuous dinner, which she ate on top of the tomb, elicited mixed responses from Kenyans.

Jacky Vike, also known as Awinja since she plays Papa Shirandula, has uploaded a video of her father’s tomb.

The actress, who was born in Vihiga County, uploaded a video of the substantial meal she “shared” with her father. Her father, David Chagali, was born in 1954 and died in 2004.

Awinja placed a dish of roasted Kienyeji chicken on the headstone, along with some avocados, ugali, and traditional vegetables.

She wasn’t done yet because she also had a flask of milk tea. Awinja then savored the chicken feet with ugali and vegetables.

 

After the single mother finished the soup on the plate, the film cut to the plates being empty save for a slice of avocado. “How I bond with my father,” she captioned the video.

Many Kenyans said they were shocked to hear about her father’s death. It is unseemly for the living and the dead to be together, according to others, who warned Awinja against following suit.
