Four Journalists named Citizen TV Director of Strategy and Innovation, Linus Kaikai, as the respondent in a case where they are seeking damages for an accident that left two of them paralyzed in 2012.
They include former Governor Joho’s Communication Director Richard Chacha, Emmanuel Talam, Faith Kaimuri, and Ephantus Mwangi who worked for Nation Media when the accident happened.
The four sued Kaikai, who was NTV General Manager at the time, for negligence since he was the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident.
Former TV journalist Richard Chacha is one happy guy after securing a new job. Mr Chacha, who worked at Nation Media Group as political reporter and late editor with at NTV, has been appointed director of communications and public relations at the Mombasa County Government. “To the glory of God,” an excited Chacha said on his Facebook page, “I accept my appointment as director of communications and public relations in Mombasa County.”
Mr Chacha left NTV in June, saying he had retired from active journalism after his TV career was dealt a major blow following a tragic road accident three years ago that left him paralysed. The accident happened in 2012 when a team of Nation Media Group journalists were on their way back to Nairobi from Narok after a fundraiser.

Richard Chacha had already created a niche for himself in the competitive media industry until 2012 when he was involved in a grisly road accident that left him crippled after suffering hip injuries.
Since then, Richard Chacha’s work was rumoured to be unproductive at Nation Media Group but he came out to refute the rumors sometime this year and later on, he called it a day at the Kimathi based media station.
Before Chacha and fellow NTV editor Fred Karema got into a car together, Chacha had a good career.The accident, which seriously wrecked the Toyota Land Cruiser they were riding in, had a profound impact on Richard Chacha’s life.wheelchair-bound Upon his release from the hospital, Chacha asserted he was unable to do his duties with ease. His wife Florence Nyambura Chacha said that things immediately got worse.
While the journalists were travelling to a fundraiser in Kilgoris, an accident occurred on the Narok-Mai Mahiu Road.In a moving testimonies, Faith Kaimuri described how the accident that left her totally unable to walk affected her life.Many wished that Richard Chacha would be back on feet after seeking medical attention across the globe but unfortunately, this did not happen. Richard Chacha, who still has hopes that one day he will go back to his best job that made him a darling of many, took it to social media to speak about his life after media. He talked about how his friends are snubbing him and even refusing to pick his calls thinking that he wants to beg for help from them.
