Fresh details have emerged from the ongoing investigation into Prophet David Owuor’s Repentance and Holiness Church, shedding light on what journalist Samira Mohammed describes as a tightly controlled system that allegedly keeps church workers dependent on the ministry.

Speaking after TV47 aired its exposé titled Divine or Deceptive, Samira revealed that church workers are reportedly provided with almost everything except direct salaries.

According to her findings, bishops and other senior workers receive food, housing, clothing, fuel for their cars, school fees for their children, and other daily necessities, but are not paid cash wages.

Samira explained that this arrangement allegedly creates total dependency on the prophet, making it difficult for workers to question authority or leave the church without losing all benefits.

“They are given everything up to cars, but not money,” she said, adding that financial independence is deliberately avoided.

The journalist also narrated a gruelling ten-hour interview session at Prophet Owuor’s residence that ran from 3pm to 1am.

During the meeting, a large screen reportedly displayed clips of alleged miracles, controlled by a young man who acted strictly on instructions to avoid provoking the prophet’s anger.

According to Samira, competition for proximity to the prophet is intense, with followers scrambling for influential positions that come with privileges unavailable to ordinary members.

She further claimed that even highly trained professionals such as doctors, lawyers, and engineers have found themselves trapped in what she described as a carefully orchestrated system.

The exposé also raised questions about alleged miraculous HIV/AIDS healings.

Samira said church leaders declined to provide figures and instead convened emergency meetings, allegedly contacting individuals in advance and coaching them on what to say.

In a further twist, Prophet Owuor reportedly sent Ksh20,000 to each TV47 crew member, claiming it was from the Lord, an act widely interpreted as an attempt to stop the broadcast.

The revelations have intensified public scrutiny of the ministry, with many Kenyans calling for deeper investigations into its operations and claims.
