Kenyan YouTuber Maureen Waititu can’t contain her excitement as her youngest son Kai Kai starts schooling.
The mother of two says despite her feeling pleased at how fast her son is growing she still wishes he remained her little boy.
“My poor heart!
All glory to God! Look at what He has done! My smallest one just started a huge milestone with his first day to school-by his side, his sweetest big brother.
This is such a big place of gratitude because of Godā€™s care and provision.
I thank him! And it is such a big deal for me knowing the journey Iā€™ve been on.
One would also think that itā€™ll be easier with a secondborn starting school but I didnā€™t sleep a wink last night because I was so emotional and nervous.
But heā€™s such a smart and brave boy who was eager to take off in the morning.
I am curious to know if I am in this with other parents. How was it for you on day one of school?Nashukuru.”

Different parents responded saying it was also hard for them to let go but they had to anyway.
anitagaitho: I left him crying and went and sat in the car and also cried. The first week was so hard for both of us. But he loves school now.
maurynenjoki: What exactly do you mean it doesn’t get easier with the second born. I cried with my first.
All the best babies you and your mama are doing an excellent job.
brenda1017: With my firstborn, I was very okay but 2nd one wah! I got so emotional I don’t know why.
raw_teach: It was just amazing, 5 months later and I continue to take the young one to school every day.
endirangu.e: My second is yet to join the school. You’re doing an amazing job mama. Blessings.
maureenbandari:My daughter was out the door the first time and when we got to school she ran to class without saying goodbye or looking back I felt for the parents whose kids were crying.
I felt emotional slightly especially the fact that she couldnā€™t wait to leave me and play with new friends but I quickly realized itā€™s better that way. She has never cried to date on opening days
