Former Inooro FM journalist Milkah Nyokabi, popularly known as Nyoxx wa Katta or Nyoxswakata, has announced her intention to contest the Juja Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
Nyokabi has declared that she will seek the seat on a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) ticket, joining the growing list of aspirants preparing to challenge for the constituency’s parliamentary position.
In her announcement, the media personality said she had decided to offer herself for leadership, calling on Juja residents to support her bid as she seeks to represent their interests in Parliament.
“When the Lord orders, He leadeth. When He speaks, we obey,” she stated, explaining the inspiration behind her decision to venture into elective politics.
Nyokabi also appealed to residents to unite behind her ambition, saying the future of the constituency depended on their collective efforts. She expressed confidence that working together with the electorate would help transform Juja and improve its development prospects.
“With a deep sense of humility, responsibility and unwavering commitment, I, Nyoxx, offer myself to serve you as Juja MP in 2027,” she announced.
She further asked residents to support her through prayers and encouragement, using the Kikuyu expression “nigwo tunyorokie Juja itu” to emphasise her appeal for a collective effort to move the constituency forward.
Nyokabi is a familiar name in Kenya’s vernacular media industry, having worked at Inooro FM, a Royal Media Services radio station. She became widely recognised through her radio career and her popular nickname, Nyoxx wa Katta.
She is married to fellow radio presenter Katta Kattaj, popularly known as Man Katta, who works at Kameme FM, where he co-hosts the Humuka programme. The couple have previously attracted public attention through their work in the vernacular broadcasting industry and their family life.
Her entry into the Juja parliamentary race marks a new chapter in her public career, shifting from radio broadcasting to elective politics as she seeks an opportunity to represent the constituency in the National Assembly.
