Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has taken a fresh swipe at President William Ruto, accusing the Head of State of failing to understand his political agenda and questioning the manner in which Teacher Service Commission (TSC) employment opportunities are allegedly being distributed.
In remarks laced with sarcasm, Sifuna referred to Ruto as the “one guy with a PhD” who had failed to understand his agenda, describing him as a “slow learner.”
“It is only one guy with plants PHD who has not understood my agenda. He is a slow learner,” Sifuna said.
The senator went on to make a serious allegation concerning TSC employment slots, claiming that Members of Parliament were being allocated slots at State House.
According to Sifuna, the slots are subsequently allegedly sold to unemployed graduates seeking teaching opportunities.
“He is in State House dishing MPs with TSC slots which are later sold to innocent youths who have graduated. What a shame?” he stated.
Sifuna’s remarks add to the growing political debate surrounding the allocation of public employment opportunities, particularly amid concerns over unemployment among young graduates.
The senator has previously raised concerns over the involvement of politicians in the distribution of TSC employment opportunities and has called for greater transparency and meritocracy in teacher recruitment.
Recent online reports have also circulated claims concerning MPs and TSC slots, although the specific allegations in Sifuna’s latest remarks would require independent verification.
The latest attack is also likely to deepen the increasingly heated political exchanges between Sifuna and the Kenya Kwanza administration as the country moves closer to the 2027 General Election.
