Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has elicited mixed reactions after revealing that he has no issues with DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking today morning at Inooro FM, Sakaja said that he has no problem with Rigathi Gachagua and that he has been talking with some of leaders allied to Gachagua’s DCP Party.
According to the Nairobi Governor, he normally talks to the leaders of Gachagua’s DCP Party such as John Methu who is a close ally of Gachagua and who serves as DCP Party Secretary General.
This despite Governor Sakaja supporting the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President in 2024. However, Sakaja has now accused some people of trying to turn him and Gachagua against each other.
“I have no problem with Riggy G, and for a long time, people have been trying to turn us against each other. I even talk to the leaders of that party, and people like Methu are my friends and my age mates” Sakaja said.
The statements by Sakaja come even as political realignments continue to take shape in the country ahead of next year’s general elections. Sakaja is expected to defend his Nairobi Gubernatorial seat in the 2027 general Elections.
