Award-winning Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami has shared an emotional glimpse into her life after her separation from fellow musician Arrow Bwoy, revealing that although the breakup was painful, she still believes in finding love again.
Speaking during a podcast interview with media personality Alex Mwakideu, the celebrated singer reflected on the lessons she has learned from her previous relationship and explained the qualities she would look for in a future partner if she chooses to settle down again.
Nadia, who shares two children with Arrow Bwoy, admitted that the end of their relationship was one of the most difficult periods of her life. She became emotional while recalling the challenges she experienced during her second pregnancy, saying the experience significantly affected their relationship and ultimately contributed to their decision to part ways.
Despite the heartbreak, the singer said she has not given up on the idea of marriage or building another family. However, she stressed that experience has made her more selective and clearer about what she expects from a future partner.
Among the qualities she listed, Nadia said she would prefer someone who already has children, believing such a person would better understand the responsibilities and realities of parenting. She also expressed a preference for a man older than herself, saying maturity is important in maintaining a stable relationship.
Financial stability also featured prominently on her list. According to the musician, she wants a partner who is financially secure and responsible. Additionally, she emphasised that any potential partner with children should actively support and care for them while maintaining a healthy and respectful relationship with their former partner, free from unresolved emotional attachments.
Her candid remarks quickly sparked widespread discussion on social media, where fans offered mixed reactions. While many applauded her honesty and admired her willingness to speak openly about her personal life, others debated whether her expectations were realistic.
The interview came only days after Nadia revealed that she had made significant efforts to save her relationship with Arrow Bwoy before eventually accepting that it had reached its end. She admitted she fought hard to keep the relationship together but eventually realised that both of them needed to move forward separately.
Although the couple has officially parted ways, they continue to co-parent their two children and have repeatedly demonstrated mutual respect in public. Arrow Bwoy has also dismissed speculation that infidelity caused the breakup, insisting there is no hostility between them despite their separation.
Away from her personal life, Nadia continues to focus on her music career and family. She recently disclosed that she is financing the construction of a multi-million-shilling apartment project intended to provide long-term security for her children, a project she initially envisioned undertaking together with Arrow Bwoy.
Her openness about love, motherhood and personal growth has resonated with many fans, with some praising her for showing that heartbreak does not mean the end of happiness. As she embraces a new chapter in life, Nadia says she remains hopeful that the right partner will come along—one who understands her journey, values family and is ready to build a healthy, lasting relationship based on maturity, respect and shared responsibility.
