Police have launched a manhunt for KICC Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Agnes Ndanu following allegations that she attempted to kill her 25-year-old partner, Nicole Omondi, by allegedly pushing her from the sixth floor of an apartment building in Thome Estate, Nairobi.
The incident, which has drawn widespread public attention, is reported to have occurred after the two returned home from a night out. According to preliminary reports, an argument allegedly broke out after Ndanu accused Nicole of infidelity.
Sources familiar with the investigation claim detectives believe the confrontation turned violent inside the apartment before Nicole fell from the balcony.
It has been alleged that investigators reconstructed the scene and recovered evidence suggesting Nicole may have been repeatedly struck on the head with a bottle before the fall.
However, these claims have not been officially confirmed by either the National Police Service or the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and investigations remain ongoing.
Nicole survived the fall but sustained life-changing injuries, including severe spinal trauma and multiple fractures.
She is currently receiving specialized treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital, where reports indicate she has been left paralysed from the waist down. Medical personnel continue to monitor her condition.
Reports further indicate that Ndanu later attempted to visit Nicole at the hospital but was allegedly confronted and chased away by the victim’s relatives, who blamed her for the incident. Those claims have also not been independently verified by authorities.
Police are now searching for Ndanu, who is said to have gone into hiding as investigators seek to question her over the incident. Authorities have not publicly disclosed whether formal charges have been filed.
Before her appointment as Officer Commanding Station at KICC Police Station, Ndanu reportedly served at several police stations, including Witeithie and Kasarani, where she rose through the ranks from a junior officer before earning her promotion to OCS. She is also reported to be the daughter of a retired senior police officer.
Investigators are expected to rely on forensic evidence, witness statements, medical reports and any available CCTV footage to establish exactly what transpired on the night of the incident.
The case has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many Kenyans calling for a thorough, impartial and transparent investigation.
