Details have emerged on what a Nairobi OCS allegedly saw on her girlfriend’s phone before pushing her from the sixth floor of an apartment building in Thome Estate.
Investigators and family members say the incident began after the officer saw messages from another man on Nicole Omondi’s phone. The discovery reportedly sparked accusations of infidelity, leading to a heated argument that later turned violent.
Nicole Omondi, 25, who is receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital with severe spinal injuries and multiple fractures, told her relatives that the officer accused her of cheating before assaulting her.
According to the family, Omondi said she was repeatedly struck on the head with a bottle during the confrontation.
As the violence continued, Omondi reportedly stepped onto the balcony in an attempt to get fresh air and escape the attack.
However, she claimed the officer followed her, dragged her back toward the apartment, and eventually pushed her over the edge from the sixth floor.
She survived the fall after landing on iron sheets and razor wire below the building.
Doctors are treating her for serious injuries, and she is currently paralysed from the waist down as she awaits surgery.
Relatives said the couple had returned home after spending the evening drinking when the dispute erupted.
During the altercation, Omondi reportedly managed to call her father while crying and informed him that she was being assaulted. The call ended suddenly, and when he called back, the officer allegedly answered the phone and told him she was disciplining Omondi before disconnecting.
Residents reported hearing screams from the apartment. Investigators later found broken bottles and blood at the scene.
A good Samaritan found Omondi after the fall and alerted emergency responders.
While receiving initial treatment, she asked medical staff to contact her sister and a close friend, enabling her family to learn what had happened.
The family is demanding a thorough and impartial investigation, claiming the officer had allegedly assaulted Omondi on previous occasions.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have reconstructed the scene and are reviewing security footage and building access records.
The case has sparked widespread public concern, with many Kenyans calling for accountability and a swift conclusion to the investigations.
