President William Ruto has announced a series of senior appointments and promotions within the Kenya Defence Forces following recommendations of the Defence Council.He appointed Major General John Maiso Nkoimo as Deputy Commander of the Kenya Army replacing Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan who has retired.
Brigadier Mohamud Salah Farah has been appointed Deputy Air Force Commander after serving at Laikipia Air Base.
The President also promoted Brigadier William Kamoiro to Major General and appointed him General Officer Commanding Central Command.
Brigadier Peter Kipketer Limo was elevated to Major General and appointed Assistant Chief of Defence Forces for Personnel and Logistics.
He also extended tenure of Kenya Navy Commander Major General Paul Owuor Otieno by one year.
President William Ruto said the changes are aimed at strengthening leadership and operational efficiency in the armed forces.
Further promotions and appointments were made across the Kenya Army and Kenya Air Force in line with Defence Council recommendations.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to building a professional and well-structured defence force capable of responding to national security needIn addition, the Defence Council chaired by Defence CS Soipan approved a range of strategic postings involving senior officers across various formations of the Kenya Defence Forces including training institutions operational commands and welfare units.
The restructuring is expected to enhance coordination improve service delivery and support ongoing modernization within the military.
