Vugusta

Kenyan socialite Stacy Vugusta, popularly known as Pendo the “Ghetto Princess,” once became the center of public attention after a controversial stay at a luxury hotel in Mombasa ended in court. The incident, which occurred in October 2020, sparked widespread discussion on social media after reports emerged that she had allegedly failed to clear an accommodation bill amounting to approximately Ksh208,000.

According to reports at the time, Stacy was arraigned at Shanzu Law Courts following claims that the outstanding bill had accumulated during her stay at the upscale coastal hotel. The case quickly attracted attention online, with many Kenyans debating the circumstances surrounding the incident and the lifestyle associated with social media influencers and socialites.

Speaking later about the controversy, Stacy explained that the situation unfolded unexpectedly after a wealthy businessman she was romantically involved with organized a trip for her and one of her friends from Nairobi to Mombasa. She stated that the man had booked their stay at the high-end hotel in advance and promised to join them after a few days. However, according to her account, he never arrived as planned, leaving the hotel arrangements incomplete.

As the days passed, the accommodation charges reportedly continued to rise, eventually reaching over Ksh208,000. Stacy said she found herself in a difficult and confusing situation, as she had not anticipated being left responsible for the growing expenses. The matter later escalated into a legal issue, leading to her appearance before the Shanzu Court in Mombasa.

In an interview with Buzz Central, the socialite described the ordeal as stressful and unexpected, saying the experience was difficult to handle. The incident remains one of the most talked-about controversies linked to the Kenyan socialite, continuing to draw reactions years later.
