Fresh details have emerged surrounding the troubled relationship between former d.light Africa CEO Nick Imudia and his secretary, Diana Kavetsa, with reports claiming she demanded millions of shillings to keep private information from becoming public.
According to an investigation aired by NTV Kenya, the conflict reportedly began after Imudia entered into a relationship with Kavetsa, who worked closely with him as his secretary. The report claims the relationship later deteriorated after Kavetsa became pregnant.
She is said to have started making demands within the workplace, including pushing for the dismissal of another employee so she could take over the position and earn a higher salary in addition to her secretary role.
Sources cited in the investigation alleged that tensions escalated after the relationship broke down completely.
Kavetsa reportedly threatened to inform Imudia’s wife about the affair and pregnancy.
She also allegedly warned that she would expose the matter to the company’s board. The expose further claimed that Kavetsa possessed intimate videos recorded during their private moments and allegedly threatened to release them publicly.
Reports indicate she demanded Sh21 million in exchange for remaining silent and withholding the videos.
Imudia, however, reportedly declined the demand and is said to have maintained that he was only willing to offer Sh5 million.
People close to the businessman reportedly stated that he had become emotionally overwhelmed and deeply stressed in the period leading to his death.
Imudia later died in Nigeria after allegedly falling from the seventh floor of a building during a work related trip.
