The legislator confirmed the incident through a statement shared online, saying he, his driver and bodyguard escaped the crash without injuries despite the severity of the accident.
Photos circulating on social media showed the heavily damaged Land Cruiser with its bonnet completely crushed and parts of the vehicle badly mangled. Debris was also scattered across the road, highlighting the force of the collision and how close the occupants came to tragedy.
In his message, the MP thanked God for protecting them during the frightening incident.
“This afternoon, I was involved in a serious road accident. By the grace of God, despite the intensity of the crash, my driver, bodyguard, and I are safe and doing well. We remain deeply grateful for God’s protection and for the concern, prayers, and support from everyone,” Kiragu stated.
The lawmaker did not reveal the exact location of the accident or what caused the collision. However, the incident sparked reactions online, with many Kenyans sending prayers and messages of support while others urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
Some social media users questioned whether speeding may have contributed to the crash, while many thanked God for sparing the lives of those involved.

Another wrote: “We thank God for protection.”
