Kapchanga resident Gilbert Kimutai, who went viral after appealing for a public fundraising to purchase a donkey, received a surprise visit on Wednesday, from Hon. Paul Chirchir, who moved to support his situation following growing public attention.During the visit, Chirchir expressed concern over Gilbert’s living conditions and confirmed plans to donate a pedigree cow to help improve his livelihood.

He noted that Gilbert comes from a very humble background, living in a small rental room behind a shop in Kapchanga, while his family home in Kipsamoi near Sigowet Centre sits on less than two points of land with only six coffee trees.

Chirchir also made several stopovers on his way to Kapchanga and Kipsamoi, interacting with locals and emphasizing the importance of supporting vulnerable households.

He said Gilbert’s case is a reminder of the challenges faced by many rural families striving to make a living under limited resources.

He further added that acts of kindness, community support play a vital role in uplifting lives, saying that “God is opening doors of blessings for Gilbert.”The donation is expected to ease Gilbert’s daily work and improve productivity as he seeks to stabilize his household needs.

Chirchir reaffirmed commitment to continue reaching out to vulnerable families during his constituency engagements across the region.

He urged unity and compassion among residents to support one another always.

Gilbert Kimutai, a career transporter who relied on donkeys to ferry goods across Kapchanga and parts of Kiptere, was left jobless after losing his donkeys.

The appeal has sparked mixed reactions among residents of Kapchanga village, social media users.
