On Tuesday, August 25, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accused President William Ruto of hijacking his bid to settle Paul Ng’eno’s hospital bill.
Gachagua, who had promised to clear Ng’eno’s bill after visiting the family of former Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) Johana Ng’eno, claimed the government had already cleared it.
He explained that his emissaries, whom he had sent to foot the Ksh1.8 million bill, were turned down by the hospital.
“I had sent people to clear the bill, but Ruto sent the Narok County Governor to pay it before I did. That is okay; in fact, you have done well, but why did you wait until I visited Emurua Dikirr to help this family?” Gachagua posed.
The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader sensationally claimed that he was setting the pace for President Ruto, who seems to be pitching a tent in areas that he visited.
He asked the Maa people to make sure that they attend his rallies, not to express their support, but to demand the projects he promised.
Gachagua announced that upon his return from the United States of America, he will go on a campaign tour in Ruto’s backyard.
He teased the people of the North and South Rift, telling them that the only way to get development was to join DCP, which would force Ruto to launch projects to win them back.
“I will visit Bomet, Kericho and Nandi, so that he can follow me and at least start development projects. I want to tell the people of North and South Rift, the trick is to welcome Riggy Gee, because Ruto does not work for people who support him,” he chided.
The ex-DP implored the Kalenjin nation to rally behind him in the quest to remove the Head of State from office, promising to ensure that they get their fair share of development projects.
Meanwhile, he reiterated claims that the President wanted to manipulate the 2027 elections by using a proxy company to secure the contract to supply the IEBC with an electoral management system.
He said he would reveal further details of the alleged plan once he has all the information.
