Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto has used sweet words to wish influencer Gigy Money well following her marriage to budding Tanzanian singer Licky Tones.
Speaking at the wedding, which took place on the night of Friday, March 13, 2026, Hamisa recounted her own marriage experiences and shared lessons for Gigy Money.
She noted that, just as she faced advice and challenges when she got married, Gigy Money would encounter similar circumstances, and she should handle them with grace.
“Aslam aleikum. I don’t have many words. I’m used to calling you Giigy, and I can only ask that you be like me, your sister. When I got married, many people spoke to me about marriage, but Giigy, I tell you, don’t let it overwhelm you,” she said.
She expressed admiration for Gigy and encouraged her to approach marriage with confidence.
During her speech, Hamisa urged Gigy Money to remain strong, to navigate marriage wisely, and to cherish her union with her husband.
“I have a lot more to say, but if I continue, I might cry. I respect you deeply and wish you all the best. May God protect you, your husband, and your home,” she added.
She also participated in a traditional celebration by spraying the couple with money as a gesture of goodwill.
Blessed marriage
On her part, Gigy Money reflected on her path to marriage and described the union as a blessing that occurred unexpectedly.
She revealed that she had not planned for marriage for a long time and had even tried to avoid it due to fear.
However, she expressed belief that God’s timing brought her together with Licky Tones.
“Everyone has their time to get married. I never dreamed that this marriage would happen so soon; it just happened because God willed it,” Gigy said.
She encouraged patience, faith, and trust in life’s timing, expressing gratitude that the marriage came when it was meant to.
“Marriage is arranged by God, and even though I tried to avoid it because I was afraid, God brought it to me at the right time,” she said.
Gigy also acknowledged the significance of support and prayers from loved ones, emphasising the importance of surrounding oneself with positivity and encouragement during such milestones.
“I am grateful for this blessing, and I trust in His timing for my life,” she said.
The couple’s wedding night was marked by music, dancing, and emotional moments as family, friends, and prominent figures from the Tanzanian entertainment industry joined to celebrate.
